It is important to note that this is where we all need to begin tomorrow. As we go back to our classrooms and plan our lessons for the rest of this year, we need to concentrate just on these shifts. Curriculum teams should be identifying the items that we need to stop teaching - if they are not in the new standards then stop teaching that content and those lessons.
Start focusing on these six areas, start "trying out" new ideas. We will be sharing websites and resources that we have been directed to with other exemplar lessons.
Edgewood Teachers, you are great too! We need to start our own bank of exemplar lessons. We will be using the format for unit and lesson design that is recommended by the Core. This format will be finalized soon and shared with all. Please use the format to develop your own exemplar lessons and share with your colleagues starting today!
